ELEVATErs and Parents ~
We concluded our HABITS of Jesus series Wednesday night with a focus on Luke 9:10-17… MAKING DISCIPLES. A text that captures one of Jesus’ greatest miracles has some insights into what being a disciple entails – a call to die to self and live for Jesus by loving others. We had an amazing night celebrating the work He does in peoples’ with the proper response of obedient surrender to Him.
Our three main points were:
1. Disciples are All In
2. Disciples Love Wholly
3. Disciples Multiply (spiritual apprenticeship)
Questions to ask in the car or around the table:
1. Who are mentors/teachers in your life? How have their lessons changed the way you live?
2. What practical steps can we take to follow in the footsteps of Jesus as disciples?
3. Who is a potential spiritual apprentice you could follow and learn from? Who are one or two people you could pour into? And who are the 12 followers in your “spiritual support system”?
4. Think about your own journey as a disciple. How have you had an impact on the discipleship of others?
