Local Outreach at Becker Evangelical Free Church
When we’re not having fun running the Haitian Hustle or packing meals at Feed My Starving Children, you are likely to find BEFC’ers helping out a neighbor or volunteering in a local sports program or in the schools. We encourage our people to get connected in the community and to take their relationship with Christ along so that they can share the gospel through relationships. It makes sense. Most people who come to Christ as an adult state that they first built friendships with 6-8 other Christians before they were ready to commit their own life to Christ.
Keep checking back to see where BEFC is reaching out next in our local community.
Faith In Action
Brothers and Sisters from our local church also participate with Faith in Action www.mnfia.org , a local non-profit ministry designed to meet needs in our local community. This involves everything from yard cleanup when we “Rake the Town” to helping people with home projects and meals.
We also pack meals through a local Backpack Buddies program to make sure that high school students in Becker have something good to eat on the weekends regardless of how the pantry looks at home.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Several young people also participate in our local Fellowship of Christian Athletes www.fca.org that meets on school property once a month.
Community Easter Egg Hunt
Each year BEFC puts on an Easter Egg Hunt at the City Park for the community. There is face painting, activities, hunting for eggs, and of course, the Easter Story. What a fun outreach this event is as we meet others in our own community to share the message of salvation.
Worship With Our Hands Sunday
We held a Worship With Our Hands event on a Sunday in place of our usual Sunday service. What a wonderful time of service outreach to our local community. Check out our Worship with Our Hands video Here.
St. Cloud Pregnancy Resource Center
We love to partner with the Pregnancy Resource Center – St. Cloud during their Baby Bottle Campaign. So grateful that God can use our spare change to change the lives of others.
