There was a level of excitement at ELEVATE last night that I hadn’t sensed so far this summer, and I think it’s because of what the Ensenada team encountered with the LORD and each other a couple weeks ago. But I think a couple of other factors are the community being built through our study in James and the anticipation of what the LORD will do at August BLAST! I hope you, as parents, are sensing and seeing some of this same excitement about your kid(s)’ faith at home!
Last night’s study in James 3:13-4:12 reminded us that the battles around us often start with the battle(s) within us, and that we need to seek wisdom and humility and repent of foolishness and pride. It was satisfying to see the lights turn on in some heads when they saw the difference between being smart and being wise and how wisdom is often proved in our relationships with others.
ELEVATE Schedule:
6:30 to 7:30 pm – Worship/Study/Small Groups/Snack
7:30 to 9:00 pm – Optional activity to follow each week (we’ll take the bus when transportation is needed)
July 29: James 4:13-5:6 / Optional Activity: Worship Night
August 5 – James 5:7-20 / Optional Activity: Night Games
August 12 – Pizza & Pop, Pickleball, and Parfaits (please bring $5 – and meet at the tennis courts)
