There are a number of experiences I hope our students will engage in for the purpose of growing in their faith and in their relationship with the LORD and each other, and near the top of that list is on a mission team to Ensenada, Mexico. Our team of 27 just returned at 1:30 am on Wednesday morning and gave their report last night at ELEVATE.
No doubt lives in Ensenada were changed by the ministry this team did (building two homes for families that were sleeping in structures much smaller than our fish houses…with dirt floors, sharing testimonies of the LORD’s work in our lives, loving kids, encouraging YWAM staff, and praying over people experience extreme hardship), but I get most excited about the lives changed on our team! We notice in God’s Word over and over how real encounters with the living God result in changed lives. Join me in praying that lasting change will settle in our heads and hearts.

As for our study in James 3 last night, I quote Josiah Queen: “Watch your mouth, boy.” James reminds us that the words we speak come from our hearts (sounds like something his brother, Jesus, would have said), and that though our tongues are small they have incredible power. What do the words from your mouth in the past month indicate about your heart?
