ELEVATErs and Parents ~
Last night we started a three-week series titled DIFFERENT in which we will consider the account of Daniel and how his faith made him stand out in a culture that elevated worship of self and false gods. Daniel is so timely for teens navigating the impact of their walk with Jesus on their walk through the world.
Last night’s main text was Daniel 1 with reference made to Romans 12:2:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Questions to ask in the car or around the table:
• In what areas of your life do you find it challenging to resist conforming to societal expectations?
• When have you experienced God’s blessings or guidance as a result of making a difficult choice to follow Him rather than conform to something that goes against His Word?
• What are some practical ways you can stand up for your faith without isolating yourself from others?
