The Message
“One
of the things we realized in our church is that if we take seriously
the preaching of God's grace, then broken and hurting people will come out
of the woodwork. That's one of the reasons this church is growing so fast.
We have a "sinner safe" church. That doesn't mean we're promoting
sin; but it's assumed that if you're a human being, you're falling short
of the glory of God. As our numbers have grown, we've seen more opportunity
to access broken marriages, broken minds, and broken beings.
If you are involved in a legalistic church, you can reduce everything to formulas. You can reduce everything to nice little packaged teachings. If someone comes into your office and says, "My marriage is hurting," you can say, "Go to this family life conference, read this book, do this, do that, obey, take three in the morning, and call me next month." If your paradigm of spirituality is simply rules and obedience, things don't get that messy. But if you know the gospel, you realize that the Father is not simply rearranging deck furniture on the Titanic. He's changing our hearts, and that makes you get far more involved in people's hearts and lives.
It has been said that the church is like Noah's ark; if it weren't for the storm outside, you couldn't stand the stink inside! Life in the body of Christ is very messy, and until we're glorified there is going to be pettiness, failure and people bailing. There's going to be longings, confusion, fear and pain. - from Secrets of a Faith Well Lived by Christopher Coppernoll
Style of Worship
Our goal
is to provide an opportunity to encounter the manifest presence of God.
By definition worship means to attribute worth to something or someone.
In Mark 12:30, Jesus said worship should involve all our heart, mind and
physical strength. In John 4:24, Jesus said we are to worship God in Spirit
and Truth. Romans 12:1 states, “Therefore, in view of God’s
mercy, offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God
- which is your spiritual worship.” Worship is not only offering all
that we are to God, it is also an intentional response of praise, thanksgiving,
and adoration to God, made known and accessible to us in Jesus, and witnessed
in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
Purpose of worship: To glorify God in Spirit and Truth.
Goal of worship: An intimate relationship with God.
At BEFC we don’t worship for our benefit (though we do benefit) we worship for the benefit of God. God is the audience and we are the performers. As in every other aspect of our church life - IT’S NOT ABOUT ME! We have chosen to be contemporary in form to reach our target group.

What Do I Wear?
We don’t
believe you need to dress up to come to church. Jesus said, “Come
to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give
you rest.” Matthew 11:28 In essence, Jesus was saying, “come
to me like you are.” No one is too dirty or too clean to come to church.
Jesus cleans his fish after he catches them...and that cleaning starts from
the inside out.
